Last week, the HMSL Medical Executive Committee approved a resolution requiring that all members of the HMSL Medical Staff, including all allied health professionals, receive a COVID-19 booster vaccination to protect themselves, our patients, our workforce and our community. All physicians and AHPs must get the booster by March 1, unless an exemption is granted for medical and/or religious reasons. View the COVID-19 Booster Resolution.
Compliance with the COVID-19 booster requirement, along with proof of vaccination status, is a CMS condition of participation. As a result, all physicians and AHPs are required to either provide proof they received the COVID-19 booster or consent to allow Houston Methodist staff to access their immunization records to document proof of completion on their behalf.
Please be on the lookout for an email from Dr. Rob Phillips later this week that will include a link to a booster attestation survey that will allow you to select whether you’ve received the booster or will receive the booster by March 1 and give consent to confirm your vaccination record.
- If you’ve already received the COVID-19 booster and have documented proof (e.g., CDC vaccination card), please submit an electronic copy to the HMSL Medical Staff Services team by emailing it to HMSLMedStaff@houstonmethodist.org.
