On Jan. 27, Houston Methodist Laboratories will implement the following changes:
CBCDM – CBC WITH MANUAL DIFFERENTIAL (aka CBCDM) [LAB3637]
- This test is only available for patients 0-30 days old.
- The patient will get a standard differential and also BANDS.
- The CBCDM will be added to the relevant neonatal preference lists/order sets in Epic as an option along with the CBCWD.
CBCWD – CBC WITH PLATELET AND DIFFERENTIAL (aka CBCWD) [LAB293]
- No age restrictions for this test.
- The patient will get an automated differential by default, regardless of age.
- BANDS are not included.
